RADIATING PRESSURE WAVES

These waves are developed by a technology based on a ballistic principle. Here, the energy is generated by air pressure accelerating a projectile which hits a metal stamp (applicator) which is in contact with the skin via gel.

The movement energy in the projectile is converted into "unfocused" pressure waves when it hits the applicator, and is transferred from there to the damaged tissue that lies under the metal stamp. Because the pressure waves are transmitted via a convex surface on the applicator, this results in a cone-shaped (radial) spread of energy in each individual pressure wave.
