PRIMARY CONTACT
MANUAL THERAPISTS AND CHIROPRACTORS ARE PRIMARY CONTACTS

In 2006, manual therapists and chiropractors became primary contacts. This means that they can examine and treat patients independently of a referral from a doctor. They can refer patients on to medical specialists or to other examinations, or to physiotherapy. They can also refer to X-rays, MRIs and CTs.
THE PRIMARY CONTACT CAN REPORT SICKNESS

The primary contact can sick leave patients with complaints or injuries in the musculoskeletal system for up to 12 weeks. We participate in a dialogue meeting with the patients employer, if the patient is on long-term sick leave. The aim of the meeting is to find solutions in the business that can help the person on sick leave return to work.
The advantage of this is a more secure examination result and faster and more efficient treatment of the patient.
Manual therapists/chiropractors collaborate with other health personnel in the municipal health service, in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and at social security outpatient clinics.
